Prints

It's a good thing this blog is text-based, otherwise you might think this post was about a certain self-involved singer and multi-instrumentalist from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Prints are a great pop band I came across recently. Members include Kenseth Thibideau and Zac Nelson (shown above in a visual gag referencing Crystal Castles).

Their label, Temporary Residence Limited (which is home to some amazing acts, including Cex, Eluvium, and Explosions in the Sky), describes their music as a mix between Brian Eno and Brian Wilson. Not far from the truth. Very catchy stuff with some production weirdness thrown in.

Actually, it's also reminiscent of Junior Boys and Mobius Band, which is right up your alley if you're into the current variety of super catchy electro-tinged pop (e.g. Cut Copy, Lifelike, Russ Chimes, Presets, etc.)

Here are two really nice tracks for you.

Prints - Yippy

Prints - End

Be sure to check Prints out on MySpace and pick up their album or EP!
