The Teenage Color Mix

Leave it to the guys at Valerie to put out another definitive mix, giving a quintessential glimpse into the current retro-80s pop movement, of which they are the most avid, coherent, and consistently impressive participants.

The Teenage Color Mix comes courtesy of Video Pop favorite College (real name David Grellier). All of the tracks here can stand on their own as great examples of electronic pop, but when strung together like this, it results in some sort of critical mass of aural sublimeness, unattained since the heyday of actual 80s synth pop.

High points include (of course) the Russ Chimes remix of College's "Teenage Color" (previously posted here) and Pony Pony Run Run's "Star Survivor;" Lifelike; Sedat the Turkish Avenger; and THE sing-a-long futuredisco track, Pnau ft. Ladyhawke's "Embrace." Blast that track at your next party and watch people who don't even know who Cut Copy is start singing the chorus.
