Kompakt Pop Ambient > Everything

Kompakt is a fantastic electronic label based in Cologne, Germany. Founded by production gurus Wolfgang Voigt, Michael Mayer and Jürgen Paape, it is generally known for its high-quality minimal techno and tech house.

What gets less attention is Kompakt's annual compilation of ambient music, Pop Ambient.

Everyone I've ever met who's into Kompakt never seems to share my love of the Pop Ambient releases, but I honestly like them better than most of Kompakt's output for the dancefloor. It's beautiful, airy music for meditation. I'm sure I'll be posting many Pop Ambient songs, but I really just suggest you get your hands on all of the compilations thus far. It's some of the best ambient music you'll ever hear.

Pass Into Silence's "Iceblink" is from the Pop Ambient 2006 compilation. Tetsuo Sakae & Mayuchi comprise the band, and while they don't have that much output, it's all high quality ambient music. Blast this song and BLISS OUT.

Pass Into Silence - Iceblink

Moment of Pop Bliss:
Like most Pop Ambient songs, the entire thing is a moment of pop bliss.

I am a person who enjoys the Pop Ambient tracks on Kompakt records. I used to play an ambient cut from Joachim Spieth on my radio show from time to time. When I wasn't playing the dance tracks on the record instead. Which I guess maybe sort of negates my previous statement.

They're good though!
